Hi,
creationism and ID are one of my fav. debates.
ID in particular is interesting as it stems from misunderstandings of concepts of science like entropy or 'no free lunch theorem'.
there would be plenty to say about it, as ID ppl tend to get confusing enought to destabilize even the most rational scientist.
That said, it is still plain crap.
Futhermore, I don't see the point of it.
From a religious point of view, a believer should not need proofs of God as all is asked from them is Faith, that is believing without asking further (or 'believe with your heart, not with your brain').
From a scientific point of view, the God hypothesis is void and unhelpful and is rightly cut off over the Occam's razor. It reminds me of that story: a physicist (Laplace I think) was explaining the solar system to Napoleon. After the talk, N went :'well that's all very well, but where is God in all that ?', 'Sir ', replied the physicist,' I did not need this assumption'.
Religion and science are two different things and should not be compared to each others. The best scientist can be religious, or not.
Sorry to blow my own trumpet but I wrote an article a couple of month ago about it in a French webzine: http://coug.free.fr/xoops/modules/news/article.php?storyid=35
The article is in French but the references are in English.
What about a collaborative work about that ? I think that's the idea behind the h2g2 right ? (I subscribed two days ago)
