music-video making!!!!
Ralph the Wonder Llama and André the dodo; Excrement Occurs Posted Feb 15, 2005
It's not just jumping up and down, you know. It's more complicated than that. And yes, I call it dancing: it is an expression of the fealings the music provokes.

well i suppose it's better than epileptic fit style dancing.

Ralph the Wonder Llama and André the dodo; Excrement Occurs Posted Feb 15, 2005
It is. Infinitely better.

please excuse my earlier synicism. i'm not often in a situation where moshing is allowed. haven't been to a huge number of concerts and those i have been to (if they class as concerts) haven't had mosh pits.

Ah, right.

think Northern Ireland, and Ireland in general, doesn't attract the same big names as the rest of the UK. probably doesn't help that my taste in music includes bands with at least 1 dead member, likre Queen and the Beatles, so the chances ogf them having a concert are slim anyway. and this Queen tour doesn't make it to the whole island

I'm pretty lucky about that, as there are a lot of festivals around here in the summer.

lucky you! i think Slane is the closest and it's about 150 miles away in the Republic of Ireland. in Belfast, which is about 60 miles from me, there are concerts, but they're sometimes bands i hate or things like the Tweenies, or other kids tv characters.

Ah, right.

NPY Posted Feb 17, 2005
it's actually quite scary that you can go to see the Tweenies or Postman Pat in concert, but to see a someone like Queen or Robbie Williams would be more difficult.

Yeah, it's sad, really.

NPY Posted Feb 18, 2005
i'm sure if you;'re three years old seeing Postman Pat would be fun. but not when you're that bit older. you want to see someone a bit more grown up.

Unless you get to the age where it's nostalgic.

NPY Posted Feb 28, 2005
For mre I think nostalgia covers watching it on TV, but not going to a concert hall of theatre to see it. Never did that as a kid, so it'd have no effect on me as an aduilt, unless perhaps I was taking some kids, but even then, I'm not so sure.

Nah, adult dragging kiddies to concerts they'd have liked to go to themselves when they were younger is the saddest thing ever. The kiddies are borde and the adults WAY to excited.

NPY Posted Feb 28, 2005
Yup. it's ok if the kids want to go and enjoy it etc, but if it's just for the adults it very very sad.

Ralph the Wonder Llama and André the dodo; Excrement Occurs Posted Feb 28, 2005
The kids mostly don't want to go. They're jsut being used as an excuse.

How sad. I did go to see Toy Story 2 on ice a few months ago. It swas very good. Very well done. Went with a couple of cousins, and they enjoyed it too, so it was ok.

Ah, right.

NPY Posted Feb 28, 2005
but Toy Story's good. It's when you go to se Postman Pat or something actually from your own childhood that it gets worrying.
