Post 8

I'd like to make a substitution, if I may! Apparently Emile Heskey is injured and won't be playing in the Sunderland-Liverpool game. So I'd like to call Michael Owen off the bench to take his place in my predictions!

To avoid any confusion, here are my revised choices in full:
Everton 2-0 Leicester (Campbell)
Sunderland 1-3 Liverpool (Owen)
Bradford 2-1 West Bromwich (Jess)
Middlesbrough 1-2 Arsenal (Bergkamp)
Fulham 1-2 Chelsea (Hasselbaink)

Sunderland 1-3 Liverpool (Owen)
Bradford 1-2 West Brom (Taylor)
Middlesborough 2-4 Arsenal (Ljungberg)
Fulham 0-2 Chelsea (Hasselbaink)

Hey Ormy, good to see you posting in from afar smiley - ok
Have fun folks

WEEK EIGHT

Post 11

And the first 2 results are:

Everton 2-2 Leicester (Deane), 1 pt to greyDesk
Bradford 0-1 West Brom (Balis), 1 pt to GWL, vogonpoet and Otto.

That West Brom goal was a last minute penalty, so GreyDesk nearly took the points

WEEK EIGHT

Post 12

vogonpoet (AViators at A13264670)

smiley - yikes Newcastle left that one a little late...

So what do we reckon to GreyDesks bold tactic then Egon? Certainly interesting...

WEEK EIGHT

Post 13

GreyDesk

I'm out there exploiting the new "2 points for no scorer" rule. If (and its a big if) everything comes off OK I get the points for guessing no one, which is way easier than guessing which of the over paid prima donnas is going to stick it in the back of the net smiley - smiley

Somehow I feel a rule change coming on for next week....

WEEK EIGHT

Post 14

Ormondroyd

You came close to an easy five points from today's game at Valley Parade, GreyDesk! Only a questionable late penalty denied you!

Nice tactics by the Blades, BTW, helping to send Barnsley on their way to Wigan and Wycombe. I'm sure you're distraught about that... smiley - winkeye

WEEK EIGHT

Post 15

Ormondroyd

Might I suggest that Brentford v Reading would be a good game to include in Week Nine? It's a kind of unofficial promotion play-off. Whoever wins gets the second automatic promotion place up from Division Two. A draw would send Reading up, but they're the away team - and it's almost a local derby. Should be pretty tense and dramatic! smiley - ok

WEEK EIGHT

Post 16

egon

As it's the last games of the Nationwide League next week, there will be no premier league matches in week nine. See more in the week nine conversation when I've read the tables and fixtures in the paper.

WEEK EIGHT RESULTS

Post 17

egon

Oh, I nearly forgot, the results are:

Everton 2-2 Leicester (Brian Deane)
Bradford 0-1 West Brom (Balis)
Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool (Michael Owen)
Boro 0-1 Arsenal (Gianluca Festa og- OWN GOAL RULING COMING UP NEXT WEEK)
Fulham 0-1 Chelsea (John Terry)

So the scores are:

Ormy 5 points (Liverpool result/scorer, Arsenal, Chelsea results)

Me 3 points (Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea rsesults)

GWL 3 points (Liverpool, West Brom and Chelsea results)

GreyDesk 1 point (everton result. APR, ARDzil and FWD also get 1 point for this match.)

Otto 4 points (Liverpool, West Brom, Arsenal, Chelsea results)

vogonpoet 6 points (Liverpool result/scorer, West Brom, Arsenal, Chelsea results) (WEEKLY CHAMPION smiley - nahnah)

Otto's still top of the league, Ormy 4 pts behin
