Mayflower Steps

1 Conversation

The current position of the Mayflower steps, in the Barbican in Plymouth, is a few feet away from where the pilgrims really embarked. The real location is underneath the toilets of the Admiral MacBride pub opposite. The jetty which features the mayflower steps, and eager visitors are directed to, was commissioned by the aforementioned Admiral while he sat as a local MP in the late 18th century. The pub was built around the same time.
