Nice article. Good and comedic. Become a comedian someday (espicially a dead one-they're hilarious!)

I wish. I have a couple of friends who are (paid) comedians. They won't work for less than $1000 for about half an hour and consequently, only work when they feel like it. Most of the time that's two or three times a week. And they're still RAKING it in.

A funnier definition than mine. Perhaps that's why he gets paid.

I got that out of a book. The only quote in the book (other than the ones the author put in there)

The author quoted himself in his own book?
Comedy
Caleb Posted Jun 23, 1999
No..he didn't, it was the only quote from a person besides the author.

The guy was sitting next to the author when he wrote the book and only said one thing?
Comedy
Caleb Posted Jul 3, 1999
No. The guy (I think it was Mel Brooks) had said the quote some time before, and the author (Gary Larson [The Far Side]) had apperantly heard of it. It was funny, and it pertained to his type of humor. So, he put in as a little snippet befor the actual book began. Make any sense to you? Good, explain it to me.

Yeah, authors do it all the time. Basically, it means that they understood something and want to say that whatever they've written is of the same standard. It's like quoting shakespeare in the introduction to a Mr Men book. I think Stephen King does it at random.

Never read his books (Stephen King, I mean) I don't like horror. Keeps me up at night.

Stephen King, now there's comedy! That'd be the bloke with his name on the hot potato contract and the healthy avoidance to chickens
