Why do people always try and think the worst of Narnia look at the good facts that it is based on happenings from the bible, and yes the stories have brought many people closer to the heavenly father. C.S Lewis is an amazing author and should not be credited as a racist man, or any thing else but a brilliant writer. At the age of 13 I believe that any one here whom is a grown up should reconsister what they think abaout Narnia and sstop trying to get attention by banding it from their children, or school boards. If you want to look at a "evil" book look at Harry Potter, it has whichcraft and Wizardry, C.S Lewis is a christian, and unlike most of the poeple in this world he has an amazing ability to turn things fromthe bible to exciting adventure that other people whom are not fimuliar with the bible to get intrested. Think about it!!!!:D

I love the Narnia books - I wouldn't have spent so long writing this article if I didn'tsmiley - smiley

Even if he was bigoted, that wouldn't stop him being a brilliant author. I did write that his books were up-to-date at the time, and so reflected the views of society. I'd hope that people can make their own minds up about whether he himself was racist.

#I believe that any one here whom is a grown up should reconsister what they think abaout Narnia and sstop trying to get attention by banding it from their children, or school boards. #

Absolutely. Banning books is not the answer - although I can't say I've ever known it to be banned from a school. Does that happen often?

#If you want to look at a "evil" book look at Harry Potter, it has whichcraft and Wizardry#

Well... I'm not sure about evil. I don't like the books myself, but I wouldn't think Harry Potter was that bad an influence - he always triumphs over evil, after all. And Narnia has witchcraft and magic too.

#C.S Lewis is a christian, and unlike most of the poeple in this world he has an amazing ability to turn things fromthe bible to exciting adventure that other people whom are not fimuliar with the bible to get intrested#

He wasn't always a Christian - he was converted about halfway through his life. But I'd agree that he explains things very well, especially in The Last Battle. Not everyone likes that though - some people want to treat them as a story and find that the allegory gets in the way. And some people find that the Chronicles seem to mock their own religion.

If my article only pointed out the good things about Narnia it'd be lying - by pointing out the bad as well it becomes more balanced. As I said, I think the books are brilliant, but that doesn't mean I don't see problems with them.

Sho - employed again!

Nice article - I was actually just looking around for a list of the books in publication order (what can I say, I prefer to read them that way)

Do you know where Lewis said that they should be read in Chronological order? Or why?
