Spiff, this is an interesting and well-written article. Two things that might be of interest to readers:

The Channel Tunnel link. Do the TGV trains go the whole way to London? Is LGV laid right into Victoria station?

What it is like to go on the TGV. As far as I remember, there is no impression of speed as the ride is very smooth and quiet, but when you look out the window, things fly by at an improbable speed.

Good point about the Uk LGV (if you take the Eurostar you can see it under construction - due to open for around 2004, I think, but I'll find out and include some more info in the piece.

Also, you're right that some kind of description of the 'ride' might be good. I'll work on it.

Ok, I've got a para on the Eurostar and I've decided against any description of the TGV 'experience. There are two places where I comment on the quality of service, and I think a real description should be a separate entry.

I figure I won't get too much more feedback in the WW, so I'm planning to get this into PR more or less straight away. It's my first time with an 'all-my-own-work' piece in PR, so it should be interesting. Never been at the sharp end before.
