The Poltergeist Playroom...
Detective Armani Started conversation Apr 10, 2002
Welcome to the poltergeist playroom. A place where all the children who have passed in the castle come together with mischief on their minds.
As you enter the room, you first notice the scent of candy floss and ice cream. There`s something else though. Something you can`t quite put your finger on. Undeterred you enter the room.
The room is small in comparison to the others in the castle but still quite large. There are stained glass doors, opposite the door you have just entered, that lead to a balcony which overlooks the courtyard. The doors are slighty ajar, allowing the wind to gently blow the now grey curtains around. From this angle they appear to be dancing.
The room is filled with toys of all descriptions. The most prominent being a wooden rocking horse in the right corner of the room. As the other things in he room, it is covered with dust and appears not to have been used in some time. The seat is quite worn and the reigns are broken. It was obviously quite favoured in it`s day.
The floor is scattered with toys; skipping ropes, dolls, juggling balls, drawings, etc. You notice a toy chest in the corner and cannot resist a peek inside. You wipe away the dust to take a closer look at it. It is made of oak and has been covered with carvings of fairytale characters. You lift the lid and look inside. You can feel the fear rise inside of you but you cannot understand why....until you see the contents of the chest. It is filled with bones of infants long gone. Their tiny skulls stare at you from deep within. Before you have chance to move, you hear a creaking noise. It`s coming from the corner. You turn towards the noise and see that the rocking horse is moving. Back and forth, back and forth. The lid of the chest slips from your fingers and closes with a loud clap that brings you back to your senses and you turn to run.
At this, all the doors in the room slam shut and you hear someone laughing. It`s very faint but it sounds to you like the giggle of a child. All you can think is, "What kind of game are we about to play?".......

Ive just read your little intro properly, (just scanned it earlier), ,kiddies bones, fairytale carvings..creeepy! do you do any writing? if not maybe you should! i used to,but havent in a long time . ive got a goood imagination and get lots of ideas..but have always had a lot of trouble putting the pictures into a "story"s such that others would find interesting..ndont havve a lot of confidence either so anything i do write i automatically write off as too crap for others to see!..lol
What made you go for poltergeists rather than ghosts? malicious they are as a rule eh..used to know what the word means but ive forgortton now!..think geist is german for guest though

I haven`t done any serious writting. I`d love to though. I`ve always loved the english language. Like you, i don`t really have any confidence in my abilities. Or my ideas for that matter. I always think that someone will have had any idea i could come up with before. They`d probably do it better than i could too.
As for why poltergeist, well firstly i was looking for something catchy and alliteration usually grabs peoples attention. Also, not all ghost etc are friendly. Felt we needed a truely menacing force in the castle. Plus, nothing disturbes me more than kids, especially dead ones

Know what you mean about the kids!..one of the things that freaked me out most about The Shining (thin ive mentioned that scaring me)was the image of the 2 little girls!
and yeah it does need something menancing. I know too well tht ghosts arent always friendly!..when my little boy first started talking he used to point into my hallway and say "yadee"(lady)a lot..i didnt think much of it..till e got a bit older and it became the "white lady". Hed often wake up in the night crying etc.one night really freaked me out cos he sid that the lady had hurt him and there were fresh scratches on his chest!
He always sleeps with the light on now
and we havent had ny more probs with IT for ages.

That is very scary. I don`t know if i could have stayed in the house after that. Do you know anything about the history of your house?
The Poltergeist Playroom...
Serephina Posted Apr 24, 2002
Not a thing no, just that the block (im in a ground floor flat)was built after the war i think ,so theyre not all that old.

Detective Armani Posted Apr 25, 2002
Mine was built in the year 1900. I`ve never experienced anything like that though. Touch wood.

Serephina Posted Apr 25, 2002
Hope you dont!..We havnt had any more probs in a long time, since i efffectively exorcised the place. a while ago ibeame interested in what appen to us when we die etc.I started to stuy the Bible with a local group for a while (im not really religious or anyhing, but i do believe theres more to life than what we know!)one of the things i learnt was that the bible actually teaches we dont have souls..! so if thats the case whats a ghost??apparently a demon that will impersonate a dead person!..i find this thought even scarier than it being a spirit!!!
Things like stuff connected to magic, spiritism, astrology, tarot t etc..is sposed o attract this sort of thing! so as a long shot i burned a lot of my stuff..and that was the last we saw of the /!! dont know how much of this i believe..but it worked! so i now add the demon theory to my many theories on what ghosts etc are, spirits, energy traces, times over-laps..etc etc
The Poltergeist Playroom...
Detective Armani Posted Apr 25, 2002
So do you believe that we don`t have a soul then?
The Poltergeist Playroom...
Serephina Posted Apr 25, 2002
As i said I really dont know what I believe, theres something that makes us all unique,a sort of life force..but i wouldnt like to guess at if it was or wasnt a "soul"as such...just like i think there must be a creating force..but not necessarily a God...dont know what it is..but theres somethig there! make any sense?
The Poltergeist Playroom...
Detective Armani Posted Apr 26, 2002
It makes perfect sense. I just can`t believe that the bible says that souls don`t exist. If that`s the case then they can`t really argue that there`s a heaven or hell. I don`t really want this to turn into a major religious discussion. People have the right to their own beliefs.

Serephina Posted Apr 26, 2002
if youve got 1 laying around..have a look at eccleciastes chapter 9,verses 5 and 10....says about there being nothing but the grave when we die x
Good point about heaven and hell..thats something i used toworry about..but what i lso learnt is there is no hell..death IS the punishment for our sins! those that were good enough and believe in christs redeeming sacrifice will get to come back here (the ressurrection)and help to recreate a perfect earth over a period of 2,000 years during which time they will become perfect again too...ans afer that period (under he guidance of jesus and a small few inheaven for that time till handed back to god again) live hapily forever..
Does make more sense doesnt it!..lol
Anywho did u see Angel last night?..sarting o get really good now i think...

Detective Armani Posted Apr 27, 2002
I can hardly watch it anymore. It's getting really tense. Poor Wes. Poor Angel too. It'll be hard to watch. Lilah is so evil. Hope she meets a nasty end sometime soon.

Serephina Posted Apr 27, 2002
Its the real rotton charachters that make the good story lines though..lol It wouldnt be watch watching if nothing excitig or bad happened and every one was nice..or only a little bit nasty would it..lol
Nah i know what you mean, itll all turn ut ok in the end im sure though

Detective Armani Posted Apr 28, 2002
You`re absolutely right. It is the villains that make it so interesting. Let`s face it, Buffy was at it`s best when Angelus was on the scene.
So what are your favourite bad guys?
The Poltergeist Playroom...
Serephina Posted Apr 28, 2002
I thought series 3 was pretty good too ,with Faith and the Mayor .I always like Drusilla a lot too.
