Hi,
Has Alexander of Macedon anything to do with people of northern Europe or America??
Was he that great while we have many more great people in history who have not recieved such a title from the Westerners?!

I'd agree he is probably rated a little too high.
Brilliant military leader he may have been but his empire collapsed very quickly. He was a destroyer, not a creator.

he did not destroy, it just that no one was strong enough to control the empire afterwards. He destroyed very little

he destroyed the Persian Empire with its elaborate bureaucracy and replaced it with personal rule, utterly dependent on the force of his personality
without him it collapsed

He was just the biggest reason of the collapse of the persian empire. The persian empire was weakening and would have collapsed on its own.

thats true but it lasted a lot longer than Alexanders Empire did and he undoubtedly hastened its end

undoubtedly. But not by much. But at least we agree on the basic gist of things.
