An entry about the English non-league football team presently existing in the Football Conference.

Excellent stuff,

There's probably an endless amount of information you could include in this entry, but as all the information already exists, what about just including a link to the wokingfc web site (just stick the normal uk suffix on it)

Well, this one's right up my street! smiley - ok

Generally, a very fine Entry. I well remember that 4-2 win at West Bromwich!

However, are you sure that the club is actually called Woking Town? I thought it was just Woking Football Club, and the official club website appears to confirm this. (BTW, the club site is pretty good, and well worth linking to).

As a lot of people who use h2g2 aren't fans of British soccer, it might be an idea to throw in a few lines explaining what the Football Conference is, and its relationship to the Nationwide League and the regional leagues below the Conference.

Finally, I would advise you to cut the lines at the end about admission prices, simply because that information is quite likely to be out of date before the end of the year.

Good luck, though! If this Entry gets accepted into the Edited Guide (and I think it should) perhaps I'll do one on my beloved Bradford City! smiley - biggrin

That's quite embarrassing - I've always thought they were Woking Town - but their website and their fansite both agree with you, so have now changed it.

Have removed the admission ticket bit. Wasn't sure what the policy was regarding external links, which is why I hadn't put them in. Is it okay - if so I'll probably add the 'official' fansite as well?

Agree about the Conference explanation, but maybe it would be better to do a guide entry regarding how all the leagues go together, else could end up being 50% of the entry. Whad'ya think?

Yup, I think an explanation of the setup of the English Football Leagues could quite easily stand alone as an entry, if you wanted to write it you could just link from this entry to the other for an explanation.

Links to outside sites are fine as long as they are not directly commercial (or unsuitable for other reasons - but it's doubtful many Football league clubs have adult only content on their websites), linking to the fans site would be ok, but not linking directly to the fans merchandising catalogue page.

That's a really good idea about an English Football Pyramid Entry! smiley - ok I wouldn't mind writing it myself, although it would have to wait for a couple of weeks as I am pretty busy right now. smiley - smiley

Well done! smiley - ok

But judging by the way you've set out the links, I'd imagine that you're working in the plain text format. I'd advise you to convert the Entry to Guide ML, as all Edited Entries are presented in that format. You can then use links without having to have the whole URL in the text.

There's a help page on how to use the Guide ML tags on http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A184763 . smiley - smiley

BTW, I have now written an Entry on the Football Conference, which is in Peer Review. It'll be pretty appropriate if my Entry and this one get picked at about the same time! smiley - smiley
