Ub Iwerks was an important, even pivotal, figure in the early days of the Disney studio. But did you know that Ub had his own studio for a time? Read on and find out!
Peace,
Stephen

Hi there, firstly I'll admit that I haven't had the chance to read the article in great depth, I've only skimmed over it for the time being.
Two points I did notice however:
Firstly, could you put quotes round paragraphs following - this will stop the text appearing to be stuck to the underside of the header bar (if you're using A*******r you might not have noticed.
Secondly, and it might just be me, but Ub is a little unusual as a name and it might be worthwhile, adding, after the first time you mention his name "Ub (pronounced Oob)"... or Eb or erb or however you actually pronounce his name.

Good suggestions - thanks. Ub is apparently pronounced like sub; I'll put that in. The family came from Germany, near the Dutch border, but Ub himself was born in Kansas City.

I found a couple of typos here:
profts -> profits
'Friz' should be spelled 'Fritz' if it's meant as a German name
'the gags well-paced' - unsure if this should read 'placed'
'wuality' - quality?
favoorably -> favourably
Great work, and well written!

and I checked it for typos before posting it, too!
Friz is not mis-spelled. It's pronounced the way it's spelled.
Thanks for the tips!

Zarquon's Singing Fish! Posted Jan 12, 2002
A couple more typos:
Under 'Flip the Frog' saing -> saying
Under 'So what happens' Iweks -> Iwerks
And I don't understand this part:
'The last ComiColor cartoon, Happy Days was adapted from Gene Byrnes's comic strip, Reg'lar Fellars, and is a sad sign that the Iwerks studio was finally hitting its stride.'
The context appears to be that they were producing good work, but running out of money, but this doesn't say that exactly. I think it needs to be reworded to help clarity.
All in all though, a good entry. I liked it.

Thanks - you got the meaning of that line correct, but I see what you mean. I'll try to rephrase it, and I'll fix those typos (more of them!) at once.
Stephen
By the way, what does Zarquon's singing fish sing? Does it take requests?
