Perhaps, with the support of the h2g2 folks, we could create our own little Anti-Censorship group smiley - smiley

Well, there is the Zaphodista Army of Cybernautic Liberation on http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A520769 , but that is mainly there to protest against censorship on h2g2 itself. What exactly did you have in mind? smiley - smiley

Going back to the ludicrous attempts to ban 'Harry Potter': there was a great BBC 'Omnibus' documentary about J.K. Rowling on TV over Christmas. She was asked what she thought of the religious zealots accusing her of preaching witchcraft, and she was quiet for a moment. She then said that they made her so angry that it was hard for her to find the right words, that you just couldn't reason with people like that, and that she was sure they'd never actually read the books.

She added that, although she meets a lot of children, she could assure everyone that no child had ever come up to her and said 'Thanks to you, I've decided to devote my life to the occult'. Which I thought rather confirmed what I wrote in my column! smiley - wizardsmiley - zoom
