...one of the worst killers are "Whatever" or, when said by and american teen on any of the stupid talkshows of the Ricki Lake description, "Whaddevvah". If I was trying to have a conversation with an american anybody, who suddenly goes "Whaddevvah", I'ld just want to smack their head.

When a conversation comes to a halt, a good way to get it going again is to say "Shall we start talking about it straight away, or shall we wait till we get round to the subject?"
