Introduction
To many people the idea of running 26.2 miles is too daunting to consider, but for the brave few, running a marathon can be one of the most rewarding experiences of their life. The following guide entry is a combination of published training programmes, along with the personal experiences of the author and his running colleagues.
It is of the highest importance not to undertake a rigourous training regime as described below without first consulting your doctor if you have been out of training for a number of years or if you have a medical condition or there is a family history of medical conditions such as heart disease.
