YEAH!!! Always is... other Long-Distance Forums might have more researchers in it than this one, and you might be surprised who comes around to post to a thread if you start your own around here...

Yep, just think of all the people who are in our group. Other groups may have more members, but ours might be more personal because you can get to know people better in smaller groups.
I'm not in a LDR anymore, but I still support all of you who are in one!! I've been there many times and I know how hard it can be at times.

Yep, we have a really close group for sure! Um, pardon my asking, but um...who are you?

I have the name added to the original page, but I couldn't remember what it was when I was typing earlier. But you're right, we'll all get to know each other...and I look forward to it! It's nice to make lots of new friends, especially those who understand the things you're going through.

You deal because you have to... you really need to trust and feed off of each other...
My LDR's coming on close to nine months now!!!
Who is where in your relationship!??

For the last nine months, I have not seen Holly (that special someone in my life). I have talked with her three times on the phone, each time for less than an hour. She is at a boarding school in Utah, and I am only allowed to communicate with her through letters. Sometimes it is weeks between letters, and every letter has to be sent through her parents, who have only recently stopped reading our mail. It has been extremely rough, but I have withstood so far, and I hope to continue.
I think that it is so awesome that we (LDR people) can get together like this and encourage each other. This is so amazing.

It is quite amazing!!! It's interesting too, to see all the varieties of LDRs there are...
I am in Colorado and my sweetie is in England... I want to move there but I really must finish college... ::sigh:: So we have a two year wait... bleh...
I'm glad you've been able to endure all of those limitations, Josh... that REALLY says a lot about you!!! Holly is quite lucky to have you!!! Does she get the summer off!?? When do you think you'll get to see each other again!??

Well, her birthday is July 7, and we hope that she will be able to visit for a few days then. She's in Utah and I'm in Oklahoma, so we're a couple of states apart. Still, the very best that she hopes for is that she will be able to come back permanantly over the summer, and attend regular school this coming fall. Needless to say, that would be wonderful. We'd still have a relationship at a distance, as her town and mine are something like 150 miles apart. But at least I could go see her from time to time, and I could call her any time I wanted. This freedom, which seems so natural to most people, would be a welcome priveledge indeed for me. Never again will I take for granted the things which can so easily be taken away. (OK, probably I will, but I'm gonna TRY not to)

Ah. More about Ian... well, we first became online friends over four years ago... and it was for Easter 2001 he thought he would come see Colorado... but he wrote me an e-mail saying he couldn't afford it financially or emotionally... he was afraid we'd fall for each other...
So I really saw him in a different light. I always had a little bit of a crush on him, and just recently we had both been mistreated in our relationships, so we had helped each other through healing from broken hearts. Ian and I both saw we'd never hurt one another...
It was quite nice. Since he had said that, we could both open up more!!! Soon he called me, and he decided to visit in late July... YAY!!!
I went to England in January... he'll be here again in late July this year...

That is heartwarming. He must really be awesome to you. I know that after my last relationship ended, I thought I'd never find anyone quite the same again. Then, when I met Holly, I realized that I didn't WANT quite the same. I wanted something different, someone who would actually care about me. And I got it.
I couldn't be happier (unless she were here right now!)

Exactly... I thought the guy I was with before Ian was IT.... boy, was I wrong. And I am VERY GLAD I was wrong....
It all is very heartwarming, isn't it!???

Awww...I'm so happy for both of you! I think it's awesome that you've found THE ONE!
I thought I found mine, but I was wrong...it still bums me out sometimes because I was happy, but I can tell that it's better that things happened the way they did. I think we both expected more than we really wanted at the time...plus I think we've both grown in two different ways.
So, now starts the process all over again...and we'll see how it goes. I know I'll find Mr. Right when the timing is right, I just have to have faith and be patient...which is sometimes hard to do. I just can't wait to have that person in my life so that I can be on cloud nine like the rest of you again!

Well, now, Casey...how old are you? I mean, maybe you're a little young for that special someone. I wouldn't say that, but I have no clue whatever of your age.
Ignorantly yours,
Josh, MKOT
