mmm, you may have a point there, but I wonder if the term clinker built couldn't just be taken out? Explaining what is a clinker built boat might be more wordy than it's worth, under the circumstances. I thought about it when I wrote the footnote. The point is that the whale boat was built for speed, not durability.
Any thoughts, anyone, and indeed Cloviscat in particular?
