This is my first entry, and I would like to submit it for peer review. It is about a rare genetic disorder, and I feel that it could have a nice home in the Genetics section of the Guide, perhaps alongside articles about other genetic disorders.

Hi Codpiece Man
This is good. You need to do some tweaking to bring it up to official guide entry standards, but it is very good.
There is a handy little utility called GuidePost, and I'll track down the URL and post it on my page. Basically you can copy text into GuidePost, and then add the tags by highlighting the appropriate text and clicking buttons (paragraph, footnote, header, etc). However if it is selected for the edited guide the sub can do this for you.
Now for the tweaks:
Firstly it needs to be paragraphed correctly, and have headings and subheadings.
Secondly I would suggest saying that the effects are physical rather than mental earlier on in the piece.
Thirdly I would suggest putting in a definition of allele as a footnote.
Fourthly I found having the technical stuff so early in the entry slightly off-putting. I'd have preferred it slightly earlier on.
Fiftly if there are any famous sufferers, it might be an idea to list them.
Thanks for the entry, I found it interesting and largely well written.
Good luck with it. It is a good and interesting entry.
Regards
Ben

Hello Ben
Many thanks for the input! I used GuidePost, and I hope the coding works. That's what this process is for. I looked and I could not track down any famous sufferers, but I will still attempt to find some later. I addressed all your other points. Again, thank you very much for your help! I have been a user on h2g2 for quite some time but have never contributed. It is quite an enjoyable process.

Well it looks great to me, and reads a little more simply. Did you add the info about the Dutch Doctor, or did I miss it the first time around?
Did you know that white cats with blue eyes are deaf while white cats with other coloured eyes are not? It sounds like a similar mechanism in process.
Other researchers may have other comments, and I am not the world's best proof-reader.
Good luck with it, and keep writing.
Ben

Hello Ben
I don't believe I added anything about the doctor. Glad to hear it is smoother. The thing about the cats is interesting. It must be related somehow. Thanks again for the tips.
