...errrm... sorry, Greebs. I mentioned the previous DW-related poll on the DW group page and did encourage my fellow Whoovers to do what we traditionally do in these situations... I believe my words were 'vote early and vote often...' DW would probably have won anyway...

No, I like RD too (well, bits of it), I just didn't think it deserved to win (or, if we're honest, really be an option - it's a sitcom more than an SF show).

I don't think so, it has all the elements of Sci fi, mainly the one big thing and thats the fact that any part of the situation couldn't posably exist at the curent time. it's a Sci-Fi/Comedy just like Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galixy.

Well, put it this way, if you were a big fan of TV series about the Second World War - Colditz, Band of Brothers, etc - and they had a poll of which was the best, you wouldn't expect Dad's Army to win, would you?

Me too, that's my point. RD is first and foremost a sitcom, not an SF show.

I think it depends on why you watch it.
in that sense it is a comedy series, I don't thick it's a sitcom because I don't like that word reminds me of dark things.
