Hello BBK,
Thought I'd drop in a response to your initial thoughts on Redundancy as I'd been having similar thoughts myself (have a look at A670132 (that would be easier if I could work out how links work!) for ten minutes of end-of-the-day verbal diarrhoea).
Sorry to hear about the redundancy (and the bills). I was just lucky enough to avoid it, but being so closely involved I've got a good idea how you feel. Only words of comfort I can come up with is that most of the people who have left here seem to have landed on their feet so I'm sure you will too. Best of luck!
Read your bio - I'm also in IT after falling into it with no perceived game plan, though I've never studied Neuroscience I am reading The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat at the moment (okay, it's not the closest link, but I still rate it as a coincidence), and just beat the late 20s, but still only feeling about 12. Haven't tried tiling yet -the proudest moment since I brought my house is related to coving!

Hi there,
I have only just found your posting here, how is that for crap! Thanks for the words of encouragement, and wow, that is a spooky coincidence!
I take it the axe managed to miss you when it fell? I was caught in round two (then there was voluntary round 3 and coming to an office near you compulsory round 4) with an official leaving date at the new year. I have just returned from a month-long holiday (I think you recommend this as a course of action) to foreign climes with my head feeling a little more normal. I am slowly starting to feel like a useful human being again who is worthy of a decent job so it is now CV time.
Slowly starting to believe this may not have been a bad move...
Are you intending on taking this entry any further? I notice it is in the alternative writing workshop so I wasn't sure what you are going to do with it. I noticed your post because I finally got around to returning to my entry with the intention of turning it into something a bit better than headings, but as yours is a lot further forward maybe I should just add some of my own thoughts to yours, whaddaya say?

Sorry not to have responded yet - I'm not ignoring you I'm just trying to get enough time to respond properly and so far failing miserably....
