Exactly the reaction I got from a Trekker.
Won't watch it, but says it's rubbish.
Oh well, their loss.
I've been hearing gossip about the new Trek film, but I remember the run-up to the last one, there was lots of gossip which didn't materialize.

I've liked all the Trek films.
"The Voyage Home" has gotta be my favourite though.
My favourite scene in Insurrection was the sight of Troi & Riker in the bath
, and Dr Crusher & Deanna discussing their breasts.
The gossip from Insurrection was that Data was going to be killed off, and the gossip I'm hearing from the new one is that Picard is going to be killed off.
What are they trying to do?
Give us heart attacks? 
They have a captive audience, for Christ's sake!

Good point. And I really liked that whole Dr Crusher and Troi discussing their breasts bit as well, though probably for different reasons to you! I personally like the Search for Spock and Generations best, and I'm a big fan of the Undiscovered Country as well, cos it has the whole Klingon tension issue in it.

I loved the whole Scotty saga where he got irritated with the old-fashioned technology.
"A keyboard! How quaint!"
And when Bones gave that old woman kidney patient a pill -

Yeah, I did like it, was very funny, but more than a little cheesey and obvious in places.
