I'm am glad you mentioned in a footnote that the Minotaur was 'A half man, half bull monster, born to Minos's wife as a punishment from the gods.'
I've read before that it was born to King Mino's wife, but I though she must have just had a thing for bulls. Bestiality was extremely common among the Greeks.
