Bipolar Disorder???
Created | Updated Mar 25, 2010
Ever since i was young ive always had anxiety and have been treated with medication and seen a child psychologist. Through my life i have been on different medications, seeing another child psychologist in my teens, and having seen councellors and gone through CBT i am still asking questions about whats going on? The lows are crushing and last for a long long time but when im happy im happy and this can last a while too, although the depression is overwhelming and crippling. Having seen someone at my local mental health team (which i might add is possibly the worst mental health team in the country!!) they are now thinking along the lines of bipolar disorder. I am awaiting a psychiatrist appointment to come through my letterbox any day now where hopefully my questions will be answered and i can be put on the right medication and the support i need (although psycho-therapy apparently doesnt come hand in hand with the medication side of things, i have to go down a completely different route and have an assessment), not that i am an ideal candidate already with my history!! As going private is not an option i have to go through the nhs. I would be interested to hear what other people have to say and any suggestions or anyone who can relate, peoples techniques on dealing with bipolar, depression and anxiety and also anyone who can relate with my history. Im not looking for sympathy, maybe just a bit of support but definately some advice.
Thanks All
