Speculation/query, NOT a spoiler because, to quote Manuel, I know naaathing.
But:
This week: "On the Bad Wolf channel, the Face of Boe has just announced he's pregnant."
Hang on...
The Face of Boe was in the second episode... set in the year five BILLION. Put another way, 4.8 BILLION years later than this week's episode. Just how f**king OLD is the Face of Boe?
Another thing I observed to icecoldalex after episode 2 was: they must have spent a LOT of money building the Face of Boe - he's a BIG animatronic - and he was on screen for about a minute in episode 2, and a second in last night's.
Speculation: the Face of Boe will be back, and in a big way.
Any thoughts?
H.

Faces of Boe (Face of Boes?) may have an incredibly long lifespan - we tend to measure things against the "three-score years and ten" of mankind which, as is natural for humans, is an arrogant thing to do
Alternatively, the Face in ep. 2 may have been one of ep. 7's descendents?
Have just realised that, seeing as ep. 7 aired yesterday, we are more than half way through the new Dr's season!

The Bad Wolf has to be in at least episode 1 or 2 because "you've seen the big bad wolf," from psychic girl to Rose. The Face of Boe has potential.

It looks exiting.

Woohoo I live about an hour away from Brighton, will have to drag Excelsior down there
I'll tell him it's a Star Trek exhibition

When we went to Blackpool last week, I dragged everyone around the Doctor Who exhibition there. I enjoyed it, and our kids had a great time running up and down corridors screaming at everything (but in a good way). I'm not sure our friends were quite as enthusiastic - their oldest boy said he was quite scared by it (well, it was quite dark) but I had a ball.

Maybe Alex will get over her fear of the Daleks when she finds out they're only dustbins on wheels

My son has a heap of Dalek episodes on DVD. (Surprisingly, I love them!)

I thought the new episode was fab.
I really cannot belive the quality of the series so far.
And how f*cking ace did the trailer for next week look?

I wonder if this is the one that's being removed from Longleat.
I can't believe their timing; I know the exhibition hasn't been fantastically popular with kids for the last few years, but it's bound to be really popular now.

"how fg ace did the trailer for next week look"
Yes, I'm looking forward to that too. I love time-travel eps. Even my son understood the last Harry Potter film time-travelling.
Hoo V.Ann. I loaded this latest page of posts, and your name is at the top. I have *just* got the significance of your name. Hoo V.Ann = Whovian.
Am I the slowest person in this thread, or what?
The Doctor Who exhibitions. The day when one appears near enough to where *I* live, so I can visit it and have some fun, is the day I sprout wings and fly.

It's quite possible you're the first person who noticed. Well done!
And the trailer for next week's looked incredible - again. In fact the only trailer so far that hasn't grabbed me was the one for "The Editor" - it just didn't seem to tell a story or give any idea what the episode would be about. Then again, I think you'd have a hard time summing up that ep in a thirty second soundbite.

The girl did, I think, quite clearly state "the things you've seen... the things you will see...", i.e. she was terrified not by something Rose had seen already, but by something she would see in her future.
Notwithstanding that, I don't think the Face of Boe is the BBW, but I definitely think we'll be seeing more of it.
I'd also like to see the Hand of Boe, because that's who you talk to when the Face ain't listening.

The *first*?? Your name has been like that for ...ages...
Thank you for the compliment,
*My* opinion on the big bad wolf.
I don't think it's the Face of Boe either.
I think it's the Doctor himself. Rose has already had a glimpse of his dark side, and I think he's hiding a lot. Plus he's dealing with Survivor guilt, and grief.
He has already reacted badly to Rose's questions - and she CAN get under his skin.
Can't wait for more Rose/Doctor in-depth discussions

Maybe 'Face of Boe' is a title rather than an individual.

We're getting towards the end of the Dr's regeneration cycle. Maybe the Bad Wolf is the Valeyard.

Daleks back in popularity:
Dropped youngest son (TOM -9) off at school today immediately rushed off to his mates to compare LEGO models they have built.
Tom spent two weeks building half size Dalek from cardboard box, and various other bits . ...we know where the "balloon whisk " is at all times now and teh top off their laundry basket.
Elder brother (Alex 13) spent whole weekend (Post SATS) building LEGO models of Dalek in chains and Rose, and chap that got suckered to death. Plus after all see H2G2 movie has with TOM creted a crossover game where the DR is a new regeneration that likes tea nad wanders around in his dressing gown.
Who knows what wil happen in two weeks time after Revenge of the Sith

Well, we were back in time to see Saturdays episode. Simon Peg made a highly convincing villain, ioho, and I did enjoy the alien straight out of Francis Bacon.
Interestingly, our hotel in Vegas seem to have been recycling the pesky dustbins on wheels as wastebins. I hope to have a photo at some point...

Longleat exhibition, and a fab little shop with all kinds of Who goodies in it, was still there when we went last summer, though it had been moved from its previous location I think.
GB sorry if I seemed thoughtless about the proximity of a Dr Who exhibition.
Face of Boe could also be a time traveller. The Dr isn't the only one, is he?

Thought your nickname was so obvious that everyone knew what it meant!
Hubby and I have *loads* Of conflicting theories concerning BBW and are waiting with baited breath to see if *any* of them are anywhere near the mark. Probably find out in the end it's all a gigantic fan-boy wind-up by RTD!
