Ehhh, so what exactly was the 57 academics line about?

I can't remember what the provocative line was that Shakespeare had said to the Doctor but the "57 academics..." reply refers to some academic theories that Shakespeare was gay and/or bisexual.
I loved it that Martha became 'the dark lady'; it almost made the numerous quotation jokes worth it!

I liked the bit where Shakespeare says he'll pinch the Sycorax name - the Sycorax having been named after a witch in Shakespeare.

"The Shakespeare Code", despite having a cr@p name, wasn't a bad episode. Martha is revealing herself to be a great companion and I liked the fact they incorporated her race into her being in 16th century England which was something I thought they'd shrug-off and ignore. The witches were perhaps a little bit too panto and silly but overall it worked and, like "Smith and Jones" it didn't feel rushed like too many 45-minute stories of S1 and S2 have. That's a good sign.

Isn´t sycorax also the name of a bone in the human body? Those aliens were after all covered in bones.

I wonder if RTD is actually requesting a certain quota of bisexuals in his stories. I wouldn´t be surprised if Martha gets it on with another woman in this series.

After all the derision poured on the laughable omnisexual silliness of "Torchwood" I doubt it.

Shame, people would go pay-per-view for that one!
