You can learn all about it here: A215993

It's the longest-running science fiction TV series in the world (it predates even Star Trek) and thanks to a recent revival it's currently the most popular TV show in the UK.

I believe the Sci-Fi Channel carries it in the USA.

I remember showing Doctor Who to a Texan friend of mine... his response to the episode I showed him (part 1 of Genesis of the Daleks) was "are the writers on crack?" smiley - laugh

Too right it is. All hail Doctor Who! Hey, maybe we should start a religion. If enough people put "Jedi" as their religion on the last census we should petition for Whovian on the next one! smiley - biggrin

CYBERHUMAN

My cousin, who has been a diehard "Doctor Who" fan for the last 30 years, once converted his wardrobe into a TARDIS, complete with a flashing light on the top. He also got his mum to knit him an incredibly long multi-coloured scarf as worn by the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker), which he sometimes wore when he went out.

Unfortunately, the bulb that he used for the light on the top of his TARDIS wardrobe was faulty and it caused a spark which then set fire to the wooden wardrobe and destroyed the whole thing (I thought the TARDIS was meant to be indestructible smiley - winkeye). My cousin still has the scarf but he no longer wears it and has buried it amongst all the thousands of bizarre items he has collected over the years.

That's the kind of brilliant but eccentric fanaticism that I think "Doctor Who" has lost in recent years and I think the new fans of the revived series ought to adopt if the series is going to continue for many years to come. smiley - biggrin
