Depression: care or cure?

I would still prefer it if this entry de-medicalised and explored, albeit briefly, depression from its own perspective. After all, we are visited by depression and to ignore it is, I feel, to exacerbate the condition. That is, what are the symptoms of depression trying to communicate? I also feel this entry is at times overly subjective. Maybe I'm expecting too much and I should do a piece myself.
