Regarding censorship/freedom of speech, one very recent example may be the researcher who decided that sticking posts which were merely a long string of F***s (nothing else, just that) into other people's conversations was a good idea.
Whatever people say about freedom of speech, there are always limits. The USA has freedom of speech guaranteed in the constitution, but that doesn't mean everyone get the right to appear on a major TV network and spout any kind of offensive rubbish. If people start their *own* media business, then they can say what they want. Other people or businesses can't stop them, but they're under no obligation to help them.
Likewise with a pub - if a customer starts causing trouble inside (upsetting customers) or outside (threatening the landlord's licence) they end up getting barred.

Of course you can yikes linda for spamming. But, however, really, you know, notwithstanding reference a, don't you think it's maybe ok to post a note about the party in every thread in the forum when "This is the Conversation Forum for The Official h2g2 Winter 2002 Party"??
Let's forgive her for talking about the party in the party forum. Why wasn't she talking about censorship? MD

I'm not really here Posted Jan 25, 2002
You can yikes me for spamming if you like, I even wondered while I was posting if the mods would yikes me themselves!
However, as I was told to post to all the conversations, then I'm sure they wouldn't stay hidden for long.
Key: Complain about this post
