The region of Sorrento, or the Sorrento region, can be used in place of 'the region around Sorrento'. It's a grey area.

In Italy, however, the word Region has a specific meaning, as it is a definte administrative entity in addition to being a geographic description. The entry originally said Limoncello was from the region of Sicily, which though factually incorrect was a semantically accurate use of the word region. Sorrento is in the region of Campania.
To get the intended meaning I would suggest "Sorrento area".
I may be mad, but at least I'm not throwing yet.

Yeah I suppose so. However, the Limoncello recipe I have always used is called Limoncello Di Sicilia
so I don't really know. I think several regions make their own version of Limoncello.

That's easy then. Limoncello is originally from Sorrento, but the recipe you have is "di Sicilia".

It's half-term, so I am restricted to a metered 56k connection - I can't be online as much. During termtime I use a much faster, unmetered connection, so normal service resumes Monday.
