Felicitations!
Another family bash GB?
My favourite comedian is Spike Milligan, closely followed by Eddie Izzard, Billy Connolly, Ben Elton (I love his books too) and Kenny Everet.
"But it's all done in the best possible taste!"
I used to listen to Ken when he worked for Capital Radio in London...Saturday mornings were such fun and t'was most definitely worth waking up early for, even with a !

Another?
No, just the one
Maybe I've been going on about it for a long time
I liked Kenny Everett too.
I love my respite days.
I'm sat here being serenaded by Shane Filanwith no interruptions and it's bliss, sheer bliss.

We had a couple of sweet old lady Jehovah Witnesses knock at our door a couple of days ago. I'm never rude but as always, I informed them that I'm an atheist and they asked if, like them I didn't celebrate Christmas.
I laughed and said that if I didn't celebrate Crimbo, my two pubescent sprogs would probably lynch me!
Anyhow...I digress...
Felicitations to bevery oddy!

Fingers crossed then and if we survive intact, I'll see you tomorrow (or whenever)!

It's been sooooo quiet here today!
John ran his mum home at midday and went to bed when he got back, whilst the kids have spent most of the day upstairs playing with their respective new acquisitions!
I hope your back recovers GB!

Yup - it's all over now. The sun is shining outside and has melted all our Christmas snow. Except for the 7' snowman in the front garden which my son (20) and one of his mad friends (18) built at 3 am the other night. (They were still at it when the neighbour came out to sweep the snow at 6 am)

LOL
I bet your neighbour had something to say to his family when he went back in doors along the lines of other neighbourhood families being quite mad!
It is a wonderfully sunny morning here - bitterly cold, but there's not a cloud in the sky! Most definitely doggie walking weather!
I'm relieved that those awful winds have died down (I almost got blown over yesterday and we've lost part of the roofing felt from our garage!).

oh poor TC.
I can think of *much* better things to do in the snow than buildespecially with a nice young man

LOL!
It sounds as though "someone" should be rolled in the snow to cool their ardour GB!

Well, just to make you jealous, the young man whose idea it was to build Mr Snowman in the first place is absolutely gorgeous. He's the drummer in my boys' band, I can tell his playing a mile off - he's really great! (Don't tell Beeg Mard Mr T - he's a drummer, too, but unfortunately, not quite so good looking as this kid).
Anyway, he's bright, lively and judging from the e-mails he sends my kids (I don't sneak, I just happened to be in the room at the same time ....) he's quite red-blooded. He's a very sporty type, very strong, but a bit on the short side. Oh to be 16 again!

Crumbs! I wouldn't invite GB over for tea were I you TC! Heh! Heh! Can I visit though??? The drummers that I've met have always had such muscular arms and shoulders... *sigh*
In reality, I can't say that there's any one individual young man that I've seen over the past few years that attracted me in the least. Mind you, there's not much talent in the area where I live and all the chaps a tad on "rough" side.
My tastes never have been in the direction of younger men. Even my first long term relationship that lasted from the age of 16 to just before my 21st birthday, was with a chap who was 15 years my senior. (It really upset him when he insured his car for me to drive at the age of 17 and the agent thought I was his daughter!)
Having said that, my lubberly (second) hubby is three year's younger than me (I traded the first husband in for a younger model just after his 30th birthday!)
I certainly wish that I was 16 again (and know what I know now though). A couple of week's back I joined the Friends Reunited site and dug out some old school pictures that I took during my final year to my school's photo album. I'd love to look like that now, but at the time, I was convinced that I wasn't good looking! Oh the joys and insecurities of puberty!

I need warming up now
*goes off to tart herself up for a visit to the newsagents & just hopes Paul isn't in there & thinks she's dressed up for him*
Don't worry TC, I have my beady eyes elsewhere, your is safe!
Naughty Gwennie!

I'm now exchanging Emails with a couple of old school (male) friends since joining that Friends Reunited site. John knows and doesn't mine as they too have respective partners, so it's all quite innocent and above board.
It's so much fun though. One chap says that the last time he saw me was back in 1980 when a girl friend and I chased him around the car park on my local pub after he'd cut me up on his motorcycle!
Oh the joys of youth! (I just wish that I wasn't so most of the time, so that I could remember them!).

I have been on that site since Grey Desk introduced it to everyone generally when H2G2 was down (do you realise that's nearly a whole year ago now!?!?)
I have had some interesting e-mail correspondence with some old friends, and many haven't answered. They probably don't remember me. On the other hand, if they don't remember their old school mates, why do they join the site?
And just today I had a look and found a name (R) that really gave me a jolt! He wasn't a boyfriend, as I was going out with his friend (M) at the time, but we worked near each other later on and went out together one night. I nearly lost my virginity to him and felt a lot more for him than for M, as the jolt proved! I hadn't thought about him for years, but now.......
Why did I go out with that wimp (M) for 22 months? Mainly because one of the fastest girls in the class (who had moved from London, and was far more experienced than us country bumpkins) fancied him. And I loved his sister and his little brother and his parents. and his friends! I don't think I'll ever understand myself at 17 now??!!
So - when I found R had joined friendsreunited I wrote - spontaneously. Wonder if he'll write back? Wonder if he'll remember me? Wonder if the chap I really lost my heart to when I was 13 will ever join?

Crumbs! I suppose it must be a year since the hootoo "down time"! Doesn't time fly when you're having fun?
Last Friday I attended a target setting interview at my daughter Mair's school with her form teacher. During the interview, I think Mair felt left out as we both digressed and started gossiping about Friends Reunited instead!
I do so hope you hear from your "old flames" TC, if only to find out what they're doing now and whether they remember you.
I must admit that I'm disappointed that the "one" chap I would loved to have contacted wasn't there and I just hope that he's well and happy as I find myself worrying that perhaps he and some of my old friends who also aren't there might ill or even worse have died.
Even now, I find myself too shy to ask outright whether anyone else is still in contact with or has heard anything of this particular chap!
It's a stupid situation and must just be my little ego playing up, because I wouldn't swap my hubby for all the tea in China and would marry him again tomorrow were he to ask me again.
