Hello. I would like to submit this, my guide entry, for peer review.
I believe that it has the things needed to go into the Edited
Guide. However, it is only an entry with some tips; these are not
proffessional tips nor is it proffessional advise.

Co-incidentally, I've just fixed my door (about 10 mins ago!). This article seems good enough to me.

Trully?! THat is indeed a co-incidence. Did you fix your door in conjunction with the article or did you simply utilize your savy-ness?

Another tip, if the door doesn't shut properly and you live in a fairly old house, chcck that there aren't 150 layers of paint on the door frame, effectively blocking the hole into which the bolt should pass, or sticking the latch mechanism open. Solved fairly easily with a dab of paint stripper or some sandpaper

Thanks I'll add that. I didn't think of that but I've had to do it.

I fixed it first, and then came on here for a break, and read your article - basically springs had gone in the handles causing the handles to drop and not spring up again, and where the square bolt goes through the keep mechanism, it had worn it down, causing one of the parts to break off.

It was really old and needed retiring!

In your opinion, was my article acurat or do you not really know?
