A Conversation for Moomin Valley
Oh my god!

I read these books as a child, but for the longest time I could not remember who wrote them. As an adult, I have been ridiculed because no one believes me that they exist (you have to admit the stories and characters are rather odd). In recent years here I was, thinking the Moomins were a product of my over-active imagination.
You have no idea how gratified I am to find out that Tove Janssen and Moomintroll actually are real! And, more importantly, others have read them as well!
What's the name of the book where the sea dries up and the Moomins go on an adventure to find (I think) water?

Cool! I live in Estonia and people really like these funny creatures here. There are only few stories that are translated into Estonian so I have to admit that I don't know the story you are telling about.
I like the best Moominpapa and the Sea where they live on an island in a lighthouse.

I remember our local library had at least ten of her books translated into English. In fact I couldn't think of the author's name or the titles, so I recently spent an afternoon combing the children's section looking for the Moomins. Book by book by agonizing book. The children (and their parents) were giving me strange looks...
...sure enough, they were there. In fact, it looked like no one since me had checked them out. And that was back in the 1970s.
I especially liked the little fellow with the glasses and brushy moustache.

The book where the sea dries up is Moominwalley and the comet (or "Kometen kommer") they don't exactly go and search for water but first for an observatory where they find out the comet is on it's way, and then back home to find protection from it....
I may be replying a little late, but....
Key: Complain about this post
