and you learn to communicate.
Dogs tell me all sorts of things. They don't use words, but I still understand them. I understand the dogs I live with best of all, but strangers dogs tell me stuff too. And the best thing? They don't lie.
So an owner tells me 'he's never done that before' and the dog says 'I've had lots of practice doing this, I'm very good at it'.
Another dog told me he didn't want to get in the back of my van because he was used to travelling on the passenger seat of his owner's van.
I don't believe we can ever speak each other's languages, but we can certainly make ourselves understood.
