Wild and wacky Smallfield

Well, I never thought curry would reach Smallfield! When I lived there in the 60s and 70s, the most I could hope for was wild times with the Brownies in the church hall or later an underage cider at the Plough (or even the fleshpots of Outwood if we were feeling particularly mad), then a long and laborious walk home (usually in the rain, as I recall) to Woodside Crescent (don't suppose they've put up a blue plaque yet, have they?). As for the roundabouts and speed humps - I'm keeling over with horror.

I'd love to have an update on further developments in the Centre of the Universe, particularly if they concern Mathieu Hartley, Maureen Ellsmore, Janet Chapman, Sally Etherington, or any other old codgers from the 60s and 70s.

This is a great idea for a conversation page. Carry on the good work.

Love, Chrissie
