Mobile Phones

1 Conversation

Have superceded digital watches as the things that people still think are a pretty neat idea. However, there the similarity
ends. The use of digital watches is not inherantly annoying on public transport, nor to they give you brain cancer, and they
tend not to disturb you during copluation, unless you've set the hourly chime on, of course.

When all's said and done, the purpose of a mobile phone is to allow you to be contacted by anyone, anywhere, no matter
where you are and what time it is. Conventional wisdom is divided as to whether this is actually a good idea, after all, humans
need personal space as much as any other animal. However, mobile phones satisfy the gadget-freak in all of us; some of them
allow you to play little games on them, or have calculators on them (handy for pub quizzes). The ability to make phone calls and
hold them, however, is still to be worked on by the men in white overalls.
