h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

The CETI people are dedicated... -to listening for radio signals and suchlike. We send spacecraft to other planets, to search for 'signs of intelligence'.
It was once asked... "Is there intelligent life on Earth?" and that was a good question to pose.
Let's take a closer look at ourselves; just our recent past, if not further back. With any degree of objectivity, we can discern that a lot of us, -we human beings, are behaving as little more than barbarians, albeit, slightly technologically advanced ones.

But of that science & technology – (which is fast overtaking the role of a 'god' in the modern world), what is it at base?
-It is all material 'stuff'! It is, for the most part made up of, and focussing on, the gross material plane...

Not many people will get this point, because the bulk of humanity is so 'Engrossed in the Gross', that they realise not, what else also exists in this universe.

I have researched for over 25 years, aspects/facets of existence, which are rare, and not found in any university course or syllabus.
There are acres of knowledge that our society, -esp. in the West, either knows nothing of, or refuses to acknowledge.

Our scientists are so very focussed with the dense material levels that they are not seeing, or knowing, anything of much finer materials.

So when CETI or others go looking for 'life elsewhere' they are, in their blinkered state, expecting, -apparently, Martians to have motorways and race tracks, and Jupiterians (Jovians) to have railways, lorries, phone lines and shopping malls?

Wrong!

What we are sadly ignoring is that, yes, there is indeed life on other planets, the universe is teeming with life, and...
-No! It’s not just tiny and primitive microbes out there.
That postulate is only issuing from the blinkered and arrogant human scientists...

The truth is: There are vast numbers of civilizations in this universe... alive... -but not kicking!!
Many of them are so further advanced that they long ago dispensed with the need for material bodies such as ours. --Let alone needing to kick and injure each other!
They have lives that are lived in rarefied 'bodies' of materials unknown, and unrecognised by our (so very primitive) science.

I have personal experience (-sans drugs or incipient psychoses!) of being aware, and conscious, -and being "out of my body". So am aware that we can be alive, and not trammelled by the material envelope.
It's a much like getting out of one's car, or other vehicle... You are still awake when you leave it! You don’t die each time you exit your Peugeot do you?!

So this is how many of the denizens of the universe exist... Sans body, sans material trappings... All of that has been left behind aeons ago. They are far more advanced than we can begin to imagine... and, by the same token, *we* are far *LESS* advanced than we care to imagine, --such is our ignorance and arrogance.

We know so little.
We see so little.
We are the 'babies' of the universe, not the kings of it! And our reluctance to let go of Victorian-style material science is hindering our very evolution as a species.

There are some of us, -albeit a minority, who are aware (in all humility) of some of the 'Subtle Worlds' and seek to educate our fellows. We are, as forerunners so often are, disparaged or ignored, for the most part.
I understand that, -it's not a problem, (personally), but we do need, nonetheless, to try to educate our fellows, -scientists included, as to the truer state of things, -just so we can move on from the dark ages of gross material obsessions, and into a much broader, lighter and enlightened age, unimaginable to the bulk of humanity...

And no, -in case anyone should wonder, I, and we, are not the sort of 'fruitcakes' often featured in the media, -they who are caught up in bizarre imaginings and claptrap fantasies often spun by errant egomaniacs and attention seekers.

We are as sane and rational as you who are now reading this.

The difference between you and we, lies only in that we have tasted those other worlds, as tangible facts, and now simply seek to report back on the findings, -as would anyone.

And verification of what we report on will come, -absolutely it will, it's just a matter of time... (which BTW, -doesn't exist!).

If you'd like to do the human race a favour, then open your mind a little wider than it is at present, and understand that life, -in this universe, is not all to do with dense material substances. There is, *absolutely,* life on, for instance Jupiter, Saturn and Venus.
In the case of the latter, -a very loving, super-advanced, race of beings, who are aware of their 'younger brothers, the human race, just as we might be aware in a caring way, of neighbouring pet dog or cat...

If we seek to know them better, that is not overly difficult to do. [It takes time and training]. But just don't expect to aim huge chunks of parabolic iron dishes at the sky and receive the equivalent of a Venusian 'Radio One' beamed back!

Their music certainly exists, but is very much not as ours (thank goodness!!) And why would they need gross radio/UHF/VHF transmitters, when they get along just fine with thought-to-thought, and heart-to-heart transmissions?

We have yet to learn of such subtleties, such delicate waves, and telepathy et al. Such beautiful, simple facts are normal for the likes of them.

And laugh your socks off the next time you see the sci-fi films that depict Hollywood paranoias about 'Aliens' who apparently wish to invade our rather sick little planet. --Would you choose to holiday in Hell?

--Well neither would they! And they don't carry odd shaped AK47 rifles either!
