A Conversation for Talking Point: Slang
Being Mardy
Moving On Started conversation Feb 8, 2010
This was a familly term - it meant when someone was being contrary for the sake of it... or going into a sulk.
I assumed it was a Midlands expression - has anyone else heard of, or has used, the term "being mardy"?

I'm familiar with mardiness. Where I'm from - the north-west - anyone caught being mardy was usually then dubbed a 'mardy bum', which I always liked.
