My guitar collection:

FENDER STRATOCASTER [1991]
This is an ebony finished 'strat plus ultra' [or is that 'strat plus de luxe'...I forget]. Equipped with a one-piece maple neck, roller nut and Lace Sensor pick-ups, this is really my main electric instrument.

GIBSON ES-335 [1989]
Mapled finished, bog standard ES-335. Plays great, particularly good for Larry Carlton type stuff [obviously]; but not as versatile as the aforementioned strat.

FENDER SRATOCASTER [1983]
For years, this was my main guitar, right up until I bought the 1991 strat. It started out a sort of ivory colour, but time [and UV rays] have reduced it to a 'milky coffee' type colour. It actually needs a re-fret, but I'm loathe to trust the job to anyone. It's got a great tone, largely due to the relatively weak pick-ups.

KRAMER PETILLO [1975?]
I'm not sure how old this one is; I bought it from a secondhand shop circa 1989. It's one of those seventies Les Paul derivatives with a very distinctive aliminium neck and a plastic 'manebony' fingerboard, together with a headstock that's split into a two pronged fork. It's got great sustain; very useful for Carlos Santana tributes!

ANTONIO SANCHEZ CLASSICAL GUITAR
I'm not sure how old this one is; I bought it a few years ago. I've been studying the classial guitar for years [I passed the ABRSM's Advanced Performance certificate last year] but this is my first top quality classical instrument. After playing some fairly uninspiring instruments over the years, this one is a real treat.

HOHNER BASS GUITAR
I'm not really a bass player, but this one is still nice to have. It's basically a Fender Precision Bass copy. It's got a metallic blue finish and plays quite nicely.

YAMAHA FJ-645 STEEL STRING ACOUSTIC
This one isn't bad. It's got a red sunburst finish and the tone is nice enough, but I sometimes feel I might have been wiser if I'd bought a Takamine or Ovation instead. I also had to do some major filing work on the bridge in order to get the action down to a reasonable level.

KAY KD-28 ACOUSTIC GUITAR
This was the guitar I learnt on. I only keep it for sentimental reasons really, because the action is truly appalling.

LAP STEEL GUITAR [make unknown]
About ten years ago, a friend in a local music shop rang me up to ask me whether I'd be interested in this. It was in a bad way, but it has cleaned up nicely. I suppose originally it was intended for 'Hawaiian Serenader' type music, but with the judicious use of sustain and digital delay, it produces some very interesting Pink Floydesque sounds.

CASIO DG-10 DIGITAL GUITAR
This is one of those cheap 1980's guitar synthesisers. It's a bit of an 'also ran',really. Unfortunately, it's the non-midi version. There's a perfectly serviceable trumpet tone on it, as well as a pleasant glockenspiel tone, but having said that it always strikes me as a bit of a toy.

Nowadays, I tend to play only the 1991 Strat, the ES-335 and the Sanchaz cassical, so I'm reluctant to buy any more guitars. However, if I had the spare cash [and the room], I would also purchase a Fender telecaster, a Gibson ES-175, a Gibson Explorer and also some kind of 12-string acoustic.
