We had regular fights between the Mods & the Dressers in Leeds in the early 80s - Mods are pretty self explanatory, but the dressers were basically football hooligans with floppy hair who wore farrer trousers,
and the Stiffs - the boring/academic ones
I personally used to be scared of all of them, even when a teenager myself - walking through the local council estate to get to school used to illicit constant shouts from the Kapper Slapper types to each other of "What're you looking at?" "I dunno, they don't label s**t".
Oh, those were the days....

You're not wrong. It sucks being away from someone you love. Belive me i know! I know yours is on the other side of the world though...which is a bit wors than a four hour train journey, but never mind!
