Hiya !
Hooray for the XS Malarkey !!
Nice article. Any room for mentioning a certain balding Open Slot who rants on about paedophiles?

No problemo. In the process of updating it now to the new venue.
What do you want me to put in about you??

Put a montion on for you. You'll probably want to change it a bit so let me know what you want it to say. I'll see you next week at XS.

I'm humbled. To be mentioned in such worthy company.
Then again, being directly underneath Jason Cooke isn't such a nice place to be...
I like the article (I like the club!), but if you wanted to put it up for Peer Review so it reaches a wider audience, the Editors would probably reject it as too much of an advert. They've also got some rules about styling:- you've got to write in the third person, so instead of "We're lucky to have....", it should be "The club is lucky to have....". They've also got rules about copyright:- if they find you're using Spider's descriptions of the acts they'll probably be upset.
Anyway, I'll see you next week.

Not worried about putting it up for peer review.
Great night last night. Smug was on top form. He had the entire pub dancin' on tables to Robbie Wiliiam's Angels! Interesting...

Oh and I think Toby wrote the descriptions. I'll probably rewrite them in time but only when I've seen the comedians myself so I've got something to comment on.

Like I said on the Malarkey's guest book, it seems I'm destined not to see Smug. Every time he's on, I miss him. It's a pain. One day...
How can you dance to "Angels" anyway? It's not exactly got a funky beat... That must be part of the Smug genious.

threesecondmemory Posted Oct 17, 2001

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Plonker.
Makes more sense now, except you've downgraded my expectations of the Roberts genius
Gong Show
Geoff Taylor - Gullible Chump Posted Oct 17, 2001
Didn't do the Gong Show on October 7th. I went to see Bill Bailey at Tameside Hippodrome. Laughed my posterior off. The guy is just sheer class.
Won't be gonging on November 4th, either. That's because the Comedy Store have invited me, (out of the blue ) to do 10 minutes in the first half.
If you didn't know, the Gong show is the 2nd half of the night. The 1st half is for 5 or 6 local comedians to do 10 minutes each.
Thinking about it, it's probably quite a nice way of talent-spotting. Assuming that any of us are any good, that is!

Yeah, the server got over excited.
No I don't really know what goes on in the gong show, its just bits and bobs I've picked up from you. S'pose I just go down sometime but its a bit pricey for me. Anyway, seem to spend most of my time either doing stuff for XS malarkey or practicing with my band. Sunday's quiz night anyway.
Nice one on getting the slot. Is that paid?
