Your description of the film Threads was excellent.
A few spelling mistakes here and there, but nothing a spell checker wouldn't sort out.
How about a bit more information around the subject.
Wasn't there a BBC Documentary on the same subject in the 70's, which ended up being banned from being broadcast? I can't remember the name of it, but someone might help.
You could go on with a few more facts and figures about nuclear war, but there again, that could be a completely different article.
Or if you just want to stick to the film, maybe a change of title, maybe Threads - A story of Nuclear War
Please feel free to ignore any or all suggestions here,
I really did like it as it stands

The BBC documentary to which you refer was entitled "The War Game", and was made in the early sixties, in black and white. It is easy to see why it was banned - it is terrifying. I saw it five weeks ago. The impact of it was increased by the fact that I was sitting watching it in a nuclear bunker.
There are around Britain a number of formerly top secret nuclear bunkers which have been declassified and turned into museums. This leads to the entertaining spectacle of driving along a road in the English countryside and passing a brown sign (note to non-UK residents: brown road signs indicate tourist attractions) which declares, in large, clear letters: "Secret Bunker 2 miles this way".

Just got back from the entry on Hack Green! That's where I saw the War Game, it's mentioned in the entry.
Anyhoo...
The entry is good, chilling stuff. Why is it centre justified?
Lots of spelling/grammar probs, but if you cut and paste it to Word that would sort it almost all out.
Best of luck with it...

Thanks for the comments.
I think I will change the title as the entry is more about the film than Nuclear War. Maybe I should do another one about Nuclear Culture. At the moment I am reading a paper on the SIOP the Americans would use in the event of Nuclear war. Chilling stuff .
Like I say keep them coming.

Hi Trinity's child, nice entry, I remember watching this film - harrowing stuff as I recall
This should go in the guide
A couple of things - there are indeed a few spelling mistakes but that is easily fixed. The other is that the entry is full of mark-up language that is not approved for the edited guide The centre justification, the font face and other mark-ups will have to be removed by the sub editor and this will create work for the poor person I would recommend you visit the guideML clinic at http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/GuideML-Clinic to have a look at the GuideML we may use in edited guide entries and mark this up accordingly. Sorry, it does look nice but it won't appear in the edited guide in that format.
Also, you should rewrite the final sections that are in the first person. Save exceptional cases, guide entries must be written in the third person.
Sorry if that sounds over-critical. I do like the entry a lot

Thanks for the input Orcus .
Don't worry you were'nt to over critical. I have done most of the changes you suggested. What do you think now?

I didn't mean you had to remove *all* the mark-up just the stuff not approved for guide entries. and tags are nice for titles and is good for nice looking paragraphs.

I'll re-do that Guide ML parts tonight. What do you think of the content have I missed any first person stuff?

This is a good entry so far - it's nearly there, but it feels a bit unfinished, in my opinion. You start off with a good synopsis, but then it rather loses the plot (AHAHAHA! Ahem.). I feel it might be better to keep it consistent, and to round it off - I was really getting into the story and then you suddenly pulled the plug! A summary of the final scenes (without giving off too many big plot twists, if they occur) would definately help.
Otherwise it's a worthy Entry with a good introduction.
