The page number (eg A123456) of your completed index page: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A672248
The project title: Evolution and Creation
A description of the general subject that you'd like to cover.
The conflict between the fundamentalist Christian belief in the Creation as described in the book of Genesis, and the widely accepted scientific theory of evolution as first proposed in Darwin's "Origin of Species".
"Specific areas that you intend to cover within this subject. "
An explanation of what evolution is and isn't.
An explanation of the beliefs of a creationist.
A discussion in scientific terms of common creationist claims.
An explanation of the spectrum of Christian belief, from hardline flat-earth, the-value-of-pi-is-three fundamentalists, to devout Christian molecular geneticists.
A brief summary of the influence of creationists on education policy in the USA.
Your proposed start date: Today, December 17th, 2001.
Your proposed finish date. Hopefully end of January... depends much on cooperation from certain contributors, or success in recruiting alternatives...
This debate is too big for one entry. This is the logical alternative. I may regret this, but I want that shiny silver badge...

And before anyone else gets in, I'd quite like to subedit this one - I have not participated in any of the many debates in this area and therefore have no axes to grind

LOL - I was wondering how long it would take for you to suggest a project of this sort. I'm sure you'll do it better than anyone too.
Now, to be unbiased, which University Department should I add you to? History & Philosophy of Science seems to be the most appropriate, but I can put it in Religion as well. Do you think there'll be enough biological content to put it in 'Biology' as well?
Good luck with it - watch out for the minefields!

Just thought I'd pop by and mention this project is now in subbing...
