"Continuing their policy of releasing albums which had already-successful songs on, bolstered by new numbers, Capitol Records used the popularity of 'Yesterday' to promote the album."
-'...song on them,' (it feels unfinished ending on 'on' to me)
-what does the bolstered by new numbers mean? Is it talking about sales?
BB:
"numbers" means songs.
How about:
"Continuing their policy of releasing albums which contained already-successful songs and padded by new tracks, Capitol Records used the popularity of 'Yesterday' to promote the album."
I was trying to avoid the repetition of the word "songs".

BB: Okay, drop the chunk
GB
BB: I agree - 2 sentences are better. (I had already done that)
GB
BB: Although they share the same cover photograph, there are seven track differences between Meet The Beatles! and With The Beatles.
GB
BB: The American Capitol Records had chosen not to release the "Please Please Me" album and allowed another record company, Vee Jay Records, to release it instead.

I think I've got all your comments attended to BB, but I can't see where anyone has told me what to do about the table width?

Between 1963 and 1964 Capitol of Canada, not as complacent as its American branchThe American Capitol Records had chosen not to release the "Please Please Me" album and allowed another record company, Vee Jay Records, to release it instead. released three Beatles albums.
Does this sum up the situation, do you feel?

I confess, I have no clue what to do there, I've been through the entire thread and cannot even find to whom BB is answering, or what entry it's referring to. Any enlightenment would be wonderful

If everyone is happy with 50%, I am. As long as it is easy to tell which are the songs and which are the albums, I'm happy.
I'd say keep "Vee Jay" and not change it to "Vee Jay Records". In fact, to be consistent, we could change that recent change from "Vee Jay Records" back to "Vee Jay".

OK I have removed the "Records" bit from "Vee Jay Records".
I'll get on with switching the columns to 50%
