h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Have created a very basic project page (A607105) for this, with the information given below. I can't find anything on James in h2g2 at the moment, and basically I'd like to put this right. Any advice on how to get going? (I'm very new to the site).

Thanks for your project statement - Henry James is certainly an important author to cover in literature, so this sounds like a very worthwhile topic.

As Tango says (thanks Tango!), have a look at the Volunteers page to see how to go about writing entries (in their technical sense). As far as 'what to write' is concerned, your summary sounds fine - a description of his stlye and influence, and the milestones he set with each of his works... Write however much you want to of whatever you think is important: it's your project.

I'm new to h2g2 and Henry James seemed the perfect place at which to dip my digital toe in the ether.

Nice project. Will there be some recognition maybe for James' consumate and truly defining skill in the art of punctuation in your project? It is one discipline that seemed to be cast aside by many of his contemporaries seeking a more 'modern' prose style: an art that now renders him 'stuffy' to some more louche readers of modern fiction. Not for him the brisk casual dash and comma.
I've always felt though that his strictured use of punctuation created a landscape of the written word as claustrophobic and straight-jacketed as the world in which his characters lived, loved and died. Accidental or intentional?

And a question to the wise: Is there any link whatsoever between James and that prince of Victorian gothic prose, Edgar Allen Poe?
