A good article - I thought that the directions were quite easy to read, although the proof would be if I was actually walking the route from Shrewsbury. There are a couple of links to tidy up which at present don't go anywhere, Ditherington Flax Mill and Haughmond Hill.
The other thing to perhaps mention is Newport. There are ten Newports in the UK, not just the capital of the Isle of Wight. Which Newport does the canal go to? I assume the one in Shropshire, but many might assume the famous one in Wales if they didn't know there was a Newport nearer.

Wow two Entries in quick succession! It is so nice to see you back here again.

Sorry if this is a list of nitpicks, but the content and layout are just fine, totally understandable and I feel sure would be really useful to someone who didn't know Shrewsbury by foot. One question, is this a safe route, would you say, to walk alone with a pushchair? I mean is it very isolated?

This route has no stairs but does has two short - I think you probably meant to type steps and [have]?

Shropshire Plain, which has some [glorious]walks,

You are joining the canal at its original end

Would it be more elegant to say 'furthest' end or finishing or stopping point? I know what you mean, but I had to read the following sentence a couple of times before I got it

Continue on this side of the road - I am aware that hairdressers come and go, perhaps mention the shops in general ( I like your suggestion of a haircut etc ) but perhaps the name of the road here would be more permanent? I hope the Guide exists for another dozen or more years to come at the very least.

Thanks, Lanza! I certainly walk this route alone quite a bit, and as it's National Cycle Route that tends to mean it is reasonably busy for a footpath. I've added this information plus your other notes.

Which number National Cycle Route is it? That's useful information to include.
(Both I and Tufty are working on writing National Cycle Route related articles at the moment)
