This link might be clearer than the one you have. At the moment it drops into a space which hasn't been reactivated. http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F43564?thread=85415&latest=1 Very well done, by the way. :-) This would have been a huge help to me when I was getting my feet wet in h2g2, and still is. Thank you!

I was planning to ask Peta to reactivate that page, to be honest, in the fullness of time. There's no real rush, though - it's one of the less critical subelties...

I know.... and after I posted here I figured you already knew that. At first I thought you'd accidentally made the wrong link.
Carry on with the important stuff...

talking of important stuff...
I guess that you've had more experience than any of us with the 'sexual orientation' restriction - I was just wondering if you could help in any way - links to fairly definate rulings one way or the other would be great - or just a link to Magnolia Thunderpussy's page, I guess. Anyway - tell me what you think, eh?
Ms. Thunderpussy.

ne'er mind, I found Magnolia's journal entry and page, and together I think these clear up the whole thing extremely well! I've gone for 'PG' as a rough equivalent of the acceptable level, but learning from example seems the thing to do. And such extremely ... 'engaging' examples she has too!

Hi Lucinda
I didn't respond here before because you seemed to have found what you were looking for. Gads.... it's a little disconcerting to be notorious for having the most experience with the 'sexually oriented' restrictions on h2g2.... and kinda funny to be advertised in this way, given that I'd decided MT should maintain a low profile for a while. I'm not complaining, though. I think you've done something really useful here. Glad to be able to help.
I just noticed that your link to the MT page shows the intro and attached conversations, but cuts off the journal entries on the rules and censorship. I think those entries are actually more informative to people looking for ways the Italics have applied and explained the house rules on the subject than the conversations are themselves. Might it be better to link to the whole page or just the journal entries?
For those of us who have a pretty good idea of how to navigate h2g2 it's obvious to click on Magnolia Thunderpussy and display the journal entries, but a newbie (or a parent looking the place over to see if it's appropriate for their kids) might not have figured that detail out yet. I wouldn't like for someone new to h2g2 to have to go into all those conversations to get a feel for what is and isn't acceptable. It's time consuming, and also gives very little information other than what *I* made the MT place for, what *I* don't want there, and how it's been utilized so far. The Italics didn't give me any input on the disclaimer I wrote in the intro... I don't even know if they've ever looked at it.
The journal entries show interaction between me, the community and Peta about the rules that apply to sexually oriented postings, in general. I think they're more accurate for what you're trying to do with the alternative house rules.
When you have a moment, look it over and see what you think, ok? But PLEASE! If you decide to make changes, DON'T do it on a Friday!
Ms. Thunderpussy.

I think I link to the journal entry in a footnote, but I'll make that change anyway - thanks for the help!
