Roy Mallard, as you so correctly summised, is played by Chris Langham. I understand that one of his first forays into the world of entertainment was as a writer for 'The Muppet Show' in the mid to late seventies.
People Like Us is one of my favourite programmes ever. The level of performance in this show is paramount. Being a resident of the UK it was quite refreshing to see someone mocking the whole genre of 'fly on the wall' documentaries, especially as the BBC are so good at filling air-time with this utter tripe. These programmes make celebrities out of people who don't deserve to be celebrities, people who are famous for only one reason : they are famous. They have no talent or gift they can enlighten my life with.
But I digress. People Like Us is a true gem. I look forward to the second series being released on dvd (when, Auntie?).
