My favourite Queen member has been Freddie ever since I first saw him do that Barcelona song with that opera woman. Did you know that he's actually done a whole CD with her? (note to self: include song in bio.) Not with the rest of Queen though, just himself. It never was popular with the rest of the world, the only song that really stood out was Barcelona. I have it somewhere on video (another note to self: dig up collection of Queen music videos
).

I don't think I'd really be able to help.. I like Queen, but I was born either after or just before Freddie died, so I really don't know that much about them...

Barcelona, with Montserray Caballe, and the rest of his work with Montserrat Caballe, are available on the box set "Solo", which contains pretty well all of Freddie's non-Queen output. From what I can gather, an album called Barcelona (which comprises disc 2 of this 3-disc set) was released in 1988, but has since been deleted. The song "Barcelona" is also available on The Freddie Mercury Album.

It is on another album as well, but I can't tell which one at the moment, as the CD in question is still in my daughter's car. We played it full volume on our way past Barcelona on the Motorway the other week (and back)!!
