It crashes every time on the submit button in log in, it is next to impossible to log out aswell using IE7. But IE7 is ok for log in.
I've cornered the market in a 14th century french math word, got it in .com, .eu, and .info.
Everything working fine now, I think I have learned a fair deal since joining hootoo.
Testing a blog aswell, but the about page will not be about maths, I might even include a shop.

Got a phone call from the USA, wow. GoDaddy phoned to check me out, said I could put a nice badge on my site and get 25% off bulk buying domains.
Put the badge up but nothing else worked on my site after that, well the clock kept ticking away.
When you said you heard about them selling details, I think that is stated in the license, I thought I saw it. The council do it aswell but are much more secretive.
I never get sales people round here, strangers always go through in pairs, not even the police will come here. So the only risk is my phone, which I never answer unless I know who it is,not withheld, and mail which I chuck straight in the bin anyway.

M$ have done it again! A new update I was reading about causing pc's to crash disasterously. I was reading about it in The Washington Post when I found the exact same thing running on my pc.
Apparently when you shut down, the pc will not start again. Who needs virus's when we got M$.

Has Bill Gates got something against me personally. My security is dead, well nice. I look forward to starting my pc, because it's always different.
I read about this yesterday, the advice from M$ was don't install the download, but if you go out leaving your pc on for a security scan it gets installed automatically.

Do you use ZoneAlarm? If so, temporarily turn the Internet zone's security from "High" to "Medium". The only difference that makes is that the outside world gets to know that your computer exists; it doesn't open any ports or other security holes. At "Medium" ytou'll be able to connect to the web again until they come up with a fix.
And it's not just Micro$oft - this DNS fix was a coordinated release for Windows, Mac and Linux, all on the same day. It's just that it trips a common feature of many Windows software firewalls.

I used to have ZoneAlarms, Ccleaner says I still have zonealarms. I had ZoneAlarms when I got 29 virus's. One was very clever:
In the task bar a zone alarms icon had dynamic upload download display. I noticed it was static but my modem was reporting an upload of about 400Kbps for ages. Checking task manager found that Zone Alarms which was set to start automatically, wasn't running. So I started it and immediately it closed all ports.
It's Kasperski thats gone down, but what has DNS settings got to do with my pc, except that I run Apache of course.

"what has DNS settings got to do with my pc"
Nothing, if every URL you type in is numeric and all the internal links in the HTML are numeric also. http://www.h2g2.com/h2g2/skins/Alabaster/images/Smilies/f_tongueout.gif" />
DNS lookup is performed for every http:// and ftp:// domain, whether it be on the address bar or in an HTML page, e.g. inside an image tag. It's probably the most frequent activity your browser performs, hence a fast responding DNS provider can make a big difference.

Very nice site, free aswell. My pc started up funny this morning, I reckon it's going to expire. It sounded like a motorbike with a cracked exhaust. Suspect the hard drive.

From the description of the sound, it's more likely your power supply cables have moved and are rubbing against the fan on your heatsink. A cable tie should pull them back.

It stopped making the noise soon after startup, and hasn't made it since.
Doesn't Lycos take it's time with domain registration, up to five days. They were the cheapest for a .co.uk so I thought what the hell, I will get one. I will have to transfer it, but they say it can't be transfered for 60 days.
Go-Daddy will maybe host it for £3.50, but in any case it's got to be moved from Lycos because they are just too slow.
So that's it, got all the domains I will ever need, all the emails I will ever need, 235 subdomains and a fixed IP, when it's all fixed up.

Who gets the .uk primary names. Makes you feel inferior. In the USA you can get a .us name, and government get .gov.us . However they have got a .mil unavailable to the general yankee public.
Does any other country only make available subdomains?
I actually feel like a serf.

Also I've finished the text for the first two pages, at approx 7700 words, but I'm illiterate so the are mostly little words.

IE it's crap, crap, crap!
Not only has one of my images, not shown, got a green background, brown in all the others, but it even displayed the image once, of something that has never ever sniffed a server, or browser. I didn't use it, but merged it with another image.
For icing it kept creating new tabs and it was into the hundreds before I was able to shut down.
It's doing my head in. I use Ccleaner weekly to clean my system, all internet rubbish is deleted, and most other things aswell.

I'd guess the image was a .PNG... IE doesn't support PNGs properly; the transparency goes all over the place and sometimes a transparent background will just display as a garish block of colour. Try converting to a GIF.
CSS
Pirate Alexander LeGray Posted Jul 15, 2008
It is a jpg, and it's not been on any webhosts server??? I did modify it, then merge it, and finally dump it. How come the background is green.
I guess I must have downloaded it using IE, and somehow it's got stuck somewhere.

A couple of days ago an attack was thwarted by security, a trojan downloader. I've been at a loss with something to do so I looked at the log of it.

I found MSN explorer on my system when trying to use skype, I wanted to ask why they charge for free calls.
The folder exists, it's 55Mb but not showing any files, although not hidden.
It is not listed as an installed program.
How do I get rid of it?
CSS
Pirate Alexander LeGray Posted Jul 17, 2008
I had Kasperski check it out; 102 files and 55Mb, but invisible although my pc is set to show hidden files.
I deleted it; nothing seems to have gone wrong yet. I set boot.ini to safestart just in case.
It probably my imagination, but is this pc a little faster
CSS
Pirate Alexander LeGray Posted Jul 17, 2008
Definitely faster, I had 84 running processes before, now only 36.
Skype actually works now.
This msn6 was uninstalled in February. Ccleaner didn't notice it, RegCure didn't notice it and Kasperski didn't even think to prevent it accessing the internet.
I only found out its existence when I hit help on skype, which is something I got to make cheap calls. Not so cheap when charged for a freephone call.
