Use a scrambled patch, you hold the version, scrambled in the client and then just send the version once it's in a register. (prevent memory hacking)

I'm thinking of putting a masive idea, upon the same lines for music, books and movies, it would allow people to watch, listen and read the information directly from the makers without the ability to rip it off, without havving direct access to hardware (i.e outputting the sound to the input and recording).
Make use of some interesting Internet ideas about encription keys. has anyoe got Variable encription to any bit width? (I have )

Ah, well... personally I think all this anti-copying stuff is living in the past, and media folks ought to work with it, not against it...
The internet, fast connections, and easily copiable digital media are here to stay, whether they like it or not...
Although personally I prefer not to illegally copy music... http://www.mp3.com is a much better solution

DoctorMO (Keeper of the Computer, Guru, Community Artist) Posted Jul 22, 2002
Thats the basses of my solution, at the moment, because media isn't availble over the net, people seek it, and alot of people don't care were they get it. So say if Disney started to offer there films for download from there site, say £5.00 a copy, then because the whole streem is encripted, you can get the file burn it and try and give it to some one else, but it woun't work on anyone else PC but yours, with your subscription (or membership) there are ways around this, but most people will be happy to pay, I would.

We could always post a new thread in the PCorner, or I could make a new page to hang off it.

well, a new thread, but it would have to be able to spawn new threads off of it, so how does one do that on h2g2?
also, how did you make this page: was it all in gml or HTML?

or we could just define a syntax for PC postings, like "Help: Outlook" and "Idea: Multimedia IM Client" and "Complaint: M$ is evil"

Ah, yes, the (only) good thing about humans is that they can add new object types just by looking at an instance. Unfortunately, most of the time they need an example like that and can't just use the abstract "in theory" format.

In theory is the best part, it takes a real programmer to put it into practice, I must admit I have fallen apart in this respect.
We make a Programmers Corner, Qs Page for Questions, Ideas, Help, Information and News
and we can use that system you have described.

Calculator Nerd... it already exists!... it's called NetMeeting, and is probably already installed on your computer... it lives in C:\Program Files\NetMeeting.
Unless you've moved to Linux already, of course
