I grew up "one of the boys" - hanging around lads after football games and playing basketball in the courtyard after school on hot summer days. It wasn't until my freshman year in high school that I developed a taste for the opposite sex that didn't include bruises and snips from a tumble out a tree. His name was Chris Barnes and he was by all accounts the most beautiful male species I'd ever seen. His deep piercing blue eyes and auburn hair. He was a trombone player in the band, I was first string clarinet (hello Njan - fellow blower of the famed Bb woodwind - love your instrument). IT was as perfect as it could get, under the stairs in the high school one breazy early summer afternoon. A welcome into womanhood, but definitely not the wilds of true passion and love. IT was only the introduction, but at age 15 IT was as perfect as it could possibly be. It was when I turned 23 I met the love of my life. A professed Wiccan, his name was Rob Hines. Beautiful deep brown eyes, long brown hair, full lips and a birthmark on his left earlobe - he was a kindred, someone I could talk to without getting those looks I get sometimes. We shared a friendship, both seeing other people. We leaned on one another during the down times and boosted each other to new heights during the up swings. Truly, he was my knight in shining armour (and fairy tales can come true, if you read them the right way). IT was wonderous between us. IT was melodic between us. IT invaded our very souls at times. Afterward, listening to Mozart and smoking a cigarette between us, it was majick. Our relationship lasted for about two years and then career opportunities elsewhere took him (and the magic) away from me.
Enjoy the beauty. Feel the majick. And don't worry about tomorrow, it'll come soon enough.
